Suggest Reason And Effects Of High ESR

im 66 yrs old male.my hb is 14, N 67,L 30 and ESR is 40, RA factor is +ve, blood sugar is 68,blood urea is 26, uric acid 4.2, blood chlorestrol is 127. i do have tennis elbow and i have taken steroids recently. i have mild pain occasionally in joints. my weight is 83 kg and height is 175 cm.i do brisk walk for 30 min five days a week. what is the cause and effecr of high esr,is it a major worry and how do i change my RA factor to negative?

Thanks for writing to HCM

A specific cause cannot be determined based on ESR.Generally it is followed up with other tests to diagnose medical condition.
High ESR indicates that person is having some infection in the body.
ESR will come down with control of infection.
RA factor is non specific and it increases in many conditions.
