Suggest Proper Treatment For Lichen Sclerosus
I have lichens desease, I take a lot of medication for different things. But lately my genital area where the lichens is has been feeling irritaded and swelled. I use clobetasol but its not even working now. is it possible the medications I take are causing this to feel so bad?

Corticosteroid creams are the first line therapy for lichen sclerosus and usually shows its effect after two to three months of application and later should be used once or twice a week as prescribed by your dermatologist . Corticosteroid creams should be used strictly as prescribed as can cause thinning of the skin of genitals . The cases which are refractory to corticosteroids should be treated further with Elidel or Protopic . The cases which becomes resistant to medicines are directed for surgical options like circumcision .
Topical corticosteroid rarely causes side effect if used strictly as prescribed . Burning sensation , thinning of skin , contact dermatitis and worsening of infection are possible side effects of topical corticosteroids .
I would suggest you to consult this issue further with Dermatologist /venerologist and take proper treatment .
