Suggest Preventive Medications For Urethra Spasms

I am looking for supplements to prevent urethra spasms . . . I do not know if I have herpes but just went thru 7 days of hell have a DR injecting numbing stuff inside. I have always struggled with uti s but since taking D-Mannose and Cranberry every day I haven t had one in 9 months until two weeks ago. The first time I have the spasms is lasted 3 days and only required one dilation this time it took over 7 days and 3 dialations. I am looking for preventative options . . . I don t want that to happen again.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The most commonly prescribed drugs to relax the bladder and prevent spasms are called anticholinergics. You should consult your doctor about this treatment.
I also suggest you to use blueberries which calm the urethra and bladder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
