Suggest Opinion On Taking Amoxicilin During Pregnancy For Infection
Hi, I just found out I am 3.5 weeks pregnant. I have had a fever between 98-101 for the last 48 hours. I have been taking tylenol to keep it down. I have been coughing up yellow phlegm and the doctor says I have an upper respiratory infection. He prescribed amoxicillin. I read that is safe but it is really freaking me out to think about taking an anti-biotic so early on in the pregnancy. Is it possible that the infection will go away on it s own? Is the risk of not taking it greater than the risk of the amoxicillin causing birth defects? Thank you.

amoxicillin is safe during pregnancy. if in case the cause is infectious, there is no other option than antibiotics to cure it. sometimes there can be its decline in natural way, but it is time consuming and not very effective. do complete the complete course in the right way. do not use too many antibiotics during pregnancy. always seek a physicians opinion while doing so.
