Suggest Opinion On Blood Sugar And Anxiety And Treatment For Diabetes

My 89 year old mother s recent blood test showed a gluclose level of 252 and yet her doctor is not treating her for diabetes. I don t get it. She is also highly anxious and I suspect there is a correlation between the two. Please comment. I have calls in to the doc but no response.

It is very regrettable. I am not sure Why the doc is not treating her sugars which are definitely elevated. In my opinion , considering her advancing age milder medications can be used to control sugars. There is a possibility that if she is taking some steroids for other medical conditions her sugars can rise. Whatever be the cause sugars need to be treated atleast with mild medicine. He owes you the responsibility to explain the rationale behind his action.
