Suggest Methods To Drain Fluid From Cyst In The Groin Area

Hi there,I have a cyst that s developed from an inflamed hair follicle on my groin area. It has a deep black pore in the center and has what appears to be white pus surrounding the infected pore and is about the size of a penny. I went to the doctor to get it excised but they cut it open and could only drain clear fluid mixed with blood. After that I went to rebandage it and applied pressure and warmth to the infection. A few small sac-like cysts popped out of the pore. I m on Bactrim but I m worried about the amount of pus trapped under the skin, it feels like the size of at least a marble. Any suggestions on how to drain this cyst and get some relief from the pressure and pain. It s making it difficult to walk and is bruising at this point.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If it was incised, the pus/discharge present should drain. Scar tissue or fibroid tissue can form at the site of trauma or infection so it is possible that this may be the lump that you are feeling. It would be firm or hard.

If this is not the case and pus is still present then you may need to see your doctor for repeat incision.
If this is not possible then the use of warm compresses to the area as well as magnesium sulphate cream dressing would help to encourage the area to drain.

The warm compress can be used at least twice daily for 15 to 20 minutes.

An anti inflammatory pain killer such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen can be used as well to help relieve your discomfort.

I hope this helps
