hi doc,im ron 19 yrd. old male.i m having an itchy feeling on my near my genital area.Five minutes after I shower the pubis area starts to get itchy again and it has a malodorous odor.Im a premed student,I was thinking that this was a jockitch though i never really took medication for this.I had this itchy feeling before, the difference is that this time there was a smaller area that feels it itchy the only problem is when i fall asleep i scratch that itch i just cant stop scratching when im sleeping the next morning it bled because i scratch it very hard but not severe bleeding. Im thinking of taking medications for my condition, the thing is there are side effects of he prescription when i look it up. Im having an esophageal ulcer as of now thats why im very careful of what medication to take. Please suggest me a drug that is appropriate to take in my condition.Looking forward to hear from you.
from the presented history, it appears a topical fungal infection. An itch only on the edge of the lesion would further confirm the condition. Mostly occur in moist areas such as groin, and due to poor hygeine surrounding the genital areas. An anti fungal topical cream like an 'itch guard' will help. The condition should subside within a week.
