Suggest Medicines For Fever And Loose Motion With Mucous

I have 100 degree fever, loose stool and mucus. At first I have gas & passed a piece of fecal the size of two prescription capsules, the ones that are oval at the end lenthwise & twice as wide as one of those caps, but with mucus. Then some larger pieces a golden brown color. Then some diahrea & mucus 0 minutes later. I had some slight cramping about an hour ago. Please advise. Could I take some Pepto?

Dear friend,
I would recommend that you rest, and take oral rehydration salts. From the features you have described, it apparently seems you've had diarrhea secondary to an infective cause, but hopefully it should settle on its own. Just keep a count on the number of stools you pass, and the volume of stools. Try to make up for the losses by taking as much oral rehydrating salts mixed in water as possible.

However, if you see blood in your stools, or you run a fever beyond 102, or feel dehydrated, don't hesitate in visiting your nearest hospital.

Hopefully your condition should settle down in a matter of 10-12 hrs...on its own.

I would not suggest the use of any drug at the moment, But rather I would want your system to flush out the toxins.

Hope that answers your question. Get well soon!
