Suggest Medicine For Swollen Gums

my mother has a swollen gums i think a damage tooth is the cause. we only have cefixime 200 mg capsule available. my mom wants to take it now, will it work? my mom is 50 years old, about 5ft and 4 inches and around 60 kg in weight.... she has no heart condition and non diabetic...

Thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the swollen gums could be because of the gum infection or tooth infection. consult a oral physician and get radiograph done to rule out these two conditions. if it is tooth infection then get the tooth treated with root canal treatment or extraction. if it is gum infection then get your teeth cleaned. you can take cefixime 200 mg if no other drugs are available immediately. ideal drug could be penicillin and metronidazole combination(if you are not allergic). i hope my answer will help you. take care.
