Suggest Medicine For Severe Back Pain

My mother has severe back pain. Yesterday she received an injection of pain medicine that has also an anti-inflammatory effect. Is there a medicine that is something like Tropolol ? She seems to have severe memory problems today (she s 96 years old). What would be the normal side effects? Thanks

Hi i am Dr Ayman Shawki
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
Older adults (over 60) are more likely to suffer from back pain related to joint degeneration (such as osteoarthritis or spinal stenosis) or from a osteoporotic compression fracture.
The first medication of choice for most people with back pain is an over-the-counter, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen ( Motrin) or naproxen ( Aleve).
hot massages with topical gels , physiotherapy, back brace and yoga are helpful for now
