Suggest Medicine For Nausea And Upper Abdominal Discomfort

I have had nausea for a week and am now having upper abdominal discomfort. The discomfort increases with pressure/ palpation. It decreases with lying down or extending my back. I have not had much of an appetite either. Any suggestions? I take 40 mg daily of omeprazole for reflux and have taken Pepto Bismal a couple of times when the nausea was worse.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are typical of acid reflux or GERD.

Continue omeprazole, avoid spicy foods.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy.

In severe cases, surgical correction may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
