Suggest Medicine For Grade 2 Diastolic Dysfunction

I have stage two distolic dysfunction (just found out) left ventricle enlarged. Hard to control BP. On metoprolol 100mg for years and lisinoprol 10mg for one week. BP. Mostly in the. 140 s / 80 s to high 150 s sometimes it is lower but more in the 140-150 range. Should I ask for stronger medicine to get closer to 120/80? And can I stop the dysfunction from getting worse or reverse it at stage two? And how long do you think this has been going on to get to stage two

Hi,

Some studies suggest that calcium channel blockers may reduce ventricular stiffness in some cases. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors may be effective at preventing ventricular remodelling and examples of these agents include enalapril, captopril and ramipril.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Monish De, Oncologist
