Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello Welcome to HCM

You have complaints of anxiety, depression, PTSD and severe anxiety following a traumatic flight. You have stopped to travel due to anxiety. This is called as avoidance due to anticipatory anxiety. I would advise you to consult a Psychiatrist for proper evaluation, though family physician can prescribe drugs that can decrease the symptoms.

Medicines like Fluoxetine, Duloxetine, Escitalopram etc are commonly used in anxiety treatment. For symptomatic relief medicines like Propranolol, clonazepam, alprazolam etc are used.

Non medicinal treatment in form of Behavior therapy and systematic desensitisation especially in your case will prove useful. You can take help from a Psychologist for that.

Hope this helps you, thanks
