Hello,
Both cannabis and tobacco have psychological addiction rather than physical addiction. Infact, tobacco does have some physical symptoms of withdrawal but cannabis has no physical symptoms at all. You need to understand this, because unlike other forms of substance addiction, these two are relatively easier to quit. And both would require a lot of will power on your part. People will tell you lots of ways to quit, but in my clinical experience, those who quit at once are those that don't start it again. So, I would recommend you to first of all sit down and think about it. Then when you are ready, just go and throw your cigarettes away. Then, and it's important, make a habit of chewing, drinking or eating something whenever you get the urge. For example, some people start eating chewing gums (not necessarily nicotine based). This helps in diverging the drive to smoke. You can also try some thing like coffee, or a snack.
Lastly, set targets, reward yourself, make a plan of celebration after 6 months of success, and look forward to it.
Hope it helps.
Regards
