Retrosternal burning relieved immediately on drinking water and recurring immediately thereafter indicate that you have severe form of esophagitis. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Take a PPI like Omeprazole. Antacid every three ours. Domperidone as anti-reflux measure. Small frequent meals of soft bland diet. Control of anxiety and/or stress is very important. Get an upper GI Endoscopy to know the exact cause so that any additional medical or surgical cause can be found out and treated accordingly.
