Hi, I have a pimple in my outer ear, where the concha and fossa meet, and it is impossible to get rid of. I am trying to use peroxide on a qtip to partially dry it out but to no avail. Would anything else work? Or is an ENT able to somehow pop it? Thank you very much
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic. I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. Looking at your complains, you are probably suffering from Furuncle(infection in the skin) of outer ear canal. It is probably due to use of Q tip for cleaning of ear. You may find relief by applying Antibiotic cream like Soframycin over the swelling .If there is pain, then apply Analgesic like Ibuprofen. If still the swelling does not reduce in size, then it would be advisable to consult an ENT specialist .If there is pus formation in the swelling ,then incision and drainage of pus will be required. Avoid cleaning your ear. Hope this answers your question.Take care.
