Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, i wish to prepond my periods by 2-3 days. My date is 17th October , i am hoping this can be done. I have heard that the medicines used to prepone have side effects. I will appreciate any suggestions /medicines you can recommend. I am 28 years old , married.
Hi & Welcome. I can understand your concern. The period can be preponed by using a drug Norethisterone which contains the hormone Progestin. Take Norethisterone 5mg one tablet three times a day beginning 3 days before the expected period is due to begin. Continue to take the medicine every day in the same dosage until such time until it is convenient for the period to begin. You can expect your period in 3-4 days after stopping Norethisterone.
Consult a Gynaecologist regarding this and get a prescription for the same.
Hope to have answered your query.
