Suggest Medication For Weight Gain

Im 48 and I am 6 foot 1 inches tall, and I weigh 148, the most I have ever weighed is 159, and I have been the exact same weight and size for 34 years. How do I gain weight. I have been using muscle milk, protein drinks and other weight gain supplements for at least 2 years now, and still no weight.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Health care magic,
I am Dr.Saleha and i will me looking into your problem.
I understand your concern and try to help you in my response.

I can see that you have been taking supplements and protein concentrates to gain weight but you missed a simple point, that protein concentrates provide you with extra protein IF your body is trying to make extra bulk. But In normal circumstances body is not trying to make extra bulk it is just maintaining current bulk and wastes all other protein altogther what ever quantity you take.

To get your body to make extra bulk and use the protein which you are taking , you will have to give it a stimulus to start building up, and that stimulus is either given by sports or gym, it will need some physical effort to make body realize that it needs extra amount of protein to compensate for physical work increase.

So I will suggest you not to loose heart or panic, just take good nutritious food and join a gym under a good trainer who knows what he is doing. A proper workout of 6 months will show definite changes in your physique,
It will just need regularity and being consistent ,

I wish you best of luck.
Regards.
Dr.Saleha
