hi. i understand that vitiligo can be very frustrating especially over exposed parts like lips. but having said that i would like to stress upon the fact that its an autoimmune disease and its exact course cannot be predicted. tacrolimus and melgain are well proven treatment modalities for vitiligo but i would suggest you to add a moderate efficacy steroid cream like mometasone furoate. you can apply mometasone in the day time, tacrolimus 0.1% in the evening and melgain lotion at night. expose your vitiligo patches to sun for 15 minutes every morning. the above regimen will get you faster response as compared to tacrolimus and melgain alone. once your vitiligo is stable for 6 months you can go for surgical treatment like suction blister grafting which has got a very good response. hope this answer helps. for any further queries please get back to us. thanks.
