Suggest Medication For Treating Anxiety

I've been on tranquilizers for about 10 yrs. I was on xanex for many years & they don't work any longer. I was then put on clonazepam for two months. Yesterday, my doctor put me on Lorazepam 0.5 4 x a day for anxiety. Side effects are rather frightening but, I do need to take something for my anxiety.

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

I think, you have got benzodiazepine dependence. In that case, shifting from one benzodiazepine to another depends upon dose of xanas. 0.5mg of clonazepam is equivalent to 1 mg of lorazepam. Now, depends upon your previous dose xanax, you can increase the dose of lorazepam. Rest, you can discuss with your doctor. In case you need further help, you can ask.
