Suggest Medication For Tightness In Chest And Breathing Problem Due To Cold

Hi, I'm 26, I was hospitalized at the end of Oct2010 with Lobar pneumonia after having 2colds in a row and very bad cough. I have felt better until recently i got a cold. the cold symptoms have mostly gone now after 2 weeks but i have a stiff, tight chest pain when i breath in sometimes, but i have had no cough, is this normal, should i get some meds or see my doctor as i am worried because of the pneumonia i had last time. also i have noticed mould growing around the windows in my home and i cleaned the mould a few days before i was hospitalized last october and have just cleaned it again now and my friend said you can get infections from mould, please can you help.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, we should definitely rule out lung infection (pneumonia) and bronchitis (inflammation of airways) in your case because both these are common after recurrent cold.
So consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed for lung infection.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and antibiotics based on the reports.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
