Suggest Medication For Sore Throat During Pregnancy
I m 5 weeks pregnant and have a cold..half stuffy half running nose. Had 100 fever once today and my throat feels as if the cat has scratched it badly and even swallowing saliva is uncomfortable and makes me feel like vomiting coz of the soreness in the throat. What medicine can I have that will be safe during pregnancy?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Since medications are contraindicated during pregnancy, it would be advisable for you to do the following for sore throat and fever which you are suffering from. 1. Tablet. Paracetamol 650mg for fever. 2. Salt water gargle with warm water thrice daily. 3. Medicated lozenges and steam inhalation. Gradually, your symptoms should improve and get better. You may consult Gynecologist if the symptoms doesn't subside, get evaluated and then treated accordingly. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
