Pain (colicky) in the first 14 hours of the menstrual cycle is physiological which indicates that the woman is releasing her eggs. However, such pain is tolerable and does not keep the woman away from her normal day to day work and duties; if it does so, treatment is needed.
You are now having pain for 3 days, which I believe would be throbbing type of pain. Such pain is usually a congestive pain. The commonest cause for such pain of short origin is some infection or inflammation.
Some anti inflammatory pain killer like Meftal spas might give you some temporary relief. However to decide whether you need some antibiotics therapy and to find out whether any other pathology like fibroid or endometriosis exists, please report to your Gynaecologist.
I hope this helps you.
