Suggest Medication For Severe Itching On Inner Thighs And Testicles

Hi

I am having severe scratching in my inner thighs and testicle area. It has been there since May 2013. Scratching gets intense during evening hours and sometimes I wake up middle of night even. I went to dermatologist and was advised to use Daktarin. Have been using for 2 months now. I also stopped wearing underwear and now use light colored boxers. I am desperate to get cured from this irritating sickness.

Hello dear,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.

It seems you are suffering from fungal infection. For this condition, oral antifungals like fluconazole/terbinafine are advised. Alongwith topical antifungal creams like miconazole/clotrimazole/sertraconazole are applied twice daily ove rthe lesions. The treatment need to be continued for atleast 2 weeks.

For symptomatic relief, you may take antihistaminics like levocetrizine/fexofenadine.

Keep the area clean and dry.
Preferably wear cotton clothes.
Wash and change clothes daily.
Do not share your clothes with others.
