I get a bad cough about twice a year in spring and after our first rain. It last about 2 months and then is all of a sudden gone. I have gone to my doctor and had chest x-rays and every thing is clear. I have been told it is just an allergy cough and to take Musinx DM extra strength in case there is something to cough up. This year however, my cough started in August and a month later I still have it. It is a chesty broncial sounding cough. It is worse at night and sometimes I cannot control having a "coughing attack" that contracts everything in my body so hard I end up with sore chest, ribs, etc.Then I am constantly clearing my throat for about a half an hour after that due to it feeling like there is liquid in the back of my throat. Is their anything that I can take to stop the cough?
