Suggest Medication For Redness And Chapped Lips

I have had a redness to rawness (now) that started just above my upper lip about a month ago. Now it has turned into raw lips and the redness/rawness is around my mouth. Nothing as of yet inside my mouth. I have tried vasaline, neosporin, hydrocortisone, chap stick and now started Friday with nystatin from a doctor of whom did not know what is going on. Please, what has caused this? And what can I use to get rid of it? It is to the point of hurting if I don't have some type of moisture on it.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that redness/rawness over the upper lip that has turned into raw lips and redness around the mouth, is indicating to be due to Perioral Dermatitis..
It can be caused due to disturbances in microbial flora over the skin, bacterial infection,nasal and topical steroids, flouridated toothpastes, harsh chemical cosmetics, poor facial hygiene, hormonal imbalances etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise you to apply topically ointments containing Doxycycline, Metronidazole..
You can also be advised oral intake of erythromycin..
Ointments containing Azaelic acid,Pimecrolimus etc can help..
Avoid any skin cosmetic or steroid ointments..
Avoid excess sun exposure, use gel based sunscreen lotion..
