I am 23 years old and had two ablations done ten years ago for supraventricular tachycardia. I eat healthy, I am not overweight, I do not drink or smoke, and limit my caffeine intake. Since my ablations, I have had a difficult time walking up stairs. For several months, I have walked up a couple flights of stairs everyday in hopes that I would get used to it and it would become easier, but this is not the case. My heart starts to race and I get extremely out of breath. It usually takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to start feeling better again.. and this is after only 2 flights of stairs. I also have a hard time doing the cardio machines at our fitness center. My heart begins to race very early on, making me feel extremely sick. I just want to be able to work out and walk up stairs like a normal, healthy person my age. Any suggestions?
