Suggest Medication For Pain In Head After An Injury
My 3 year old son fell off a chair & hit the front of his head on a hard floor. He cried immediately & calmed down after a few minutes but a few days later he is complaining that his head hurts but only when he cries not all the time... Should I take him to see a doctor?
HI Well come to HCM First of all, head injury cases need to be kept under the observation for 48 hours, this is a rule, because anything could happen during this time period, even if the patient seem alright, now keep your eye open for fit and vomiting, if something like that is happened then you need go to ER, else this is nothing to worry, take care,
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your son had a head injury following a fall. My response to your question is as follows.
If it is only headache then no need to be worried as this will respond to simple pain killer drugs. However if he is having any of the symptoms suggesting of head injury causing concussion injury to the brain like vomiting, loss of consciousness, vomiting, bleeding from nose or ears... then he needs to to consult doctor for investigations like CT scan to find the severity of concussion injury and treatment accordingly.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope this information is helpful to you. Do write back to me for any further questions and I will be happy to answer and assist you.
Thank you With regards
