Suggest Medication For Little Red Spots Under Skin From Shoulder Towards Spine

I have little red spots under skin that resemble something like what a mild hickey might leave behind on a persons neck. The skin over the area is sensitive to the touch and even more so when I our a shirt on. The are NOT raised bumps above the skin, they DO NOT itch, they are NOT SCALEY, the skin around the are is NOT DRY. Im freaking out a little but don t want to over react if it s something simple. I d submit a picture but I see thats not an option here. Last week these same spot were on my left hip and they have since disappeared and re-appeared underneath my left shoulder blade and spread slightly towards my spine. I am a 25 year old male in case that is something that needs to be known. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for your query.

Judging from the fact that it is localized only on one side and there is sensitivity to touch and when something is rubbing on to it (e.g shirt), I would like to rule out a possibility of Herpes Zoster.

Zoster may begin as a red spots which resemble an insect bite but they are usually painful/have a burning sensation to it and later on may evolve into grouped discrete fluid filled lesions.
The lesions are arranged in a stripe like pattern across the body and there is usually a sharp mid line cut off. In fully developed lesions, the picture is sufficiently characteristic to be diagnostic on physical examination.
Treatment of herpes zoster is with oral anivirals like acyclovir or valacyclovir.

I would suggest that you visit a specialist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis and subsequent management.

Regards
