Suggest Medication For Infection In The Toe

hello. I have an extensive list of prescribed medications I take and I recently had a blood infection in a toe from a toenail removal from a dr office. The Dr. prescribed leviquin for the infection which has cleared up the toe nicely, however I think my body is not accepting the Leviquin well due to very stiff joints and muscles to the point I don t want to move. Tonight I called my pharmacy to ask if they would know if something I m taking regularly is bothering me with the Leviquin. They suggested the simvastatin I m taking may be the culprit. Iknow you need a lisy of what I take to answer properly, but does this sound likely?I can provide a list if necessary.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, the list of your medicines would definitely helpmin answering and guiding you in a better way but its less likely that antibiotic is causing your symptoms.

As you are taking simvastatin and it commonly causes the symptoms you mentioned.

So I would like you to have reviewed by your doctor and get your medicines optimized and lowering the dose of simvastatin may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
