Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On Monday I wasn't feeling well, non-specific, but I was quite cold and felt "feverish". I took my temperature and it was only 95.0! I waited 10 minutes and it went up to 95.2. I got under blankets with a heating pad and an hour later it went up to 97.2. What would cause a low body temperature and should I be concerned?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have high fever which could be due to bacterial/viral infection. It seems that you have presence of infection in your body which is due to your poor immunity and increased susceptibility of getting infected. I would suggest you to do tepid sponging for immediate relief as you having high degree fever. You should take proper antibiotic course in combination with Ibuprofen/ Acetaminophen. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should get routine blood test done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Normally viral fever take one week duration to get recovered. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
