Hallow Dear,

The fact she had taken unwanted 72 after the sex and she got her period 10 days after the sex almost proves that she is not pregnant from that intercourse. Now the question is whether she had any intercourse after that period or not! If she had any intercourse, then the possibility of the pregnancy has to be assessed. Now it is approximately 2 months since she had her previous menses. Urine pregnancy test will definitely give reliable conclusions by this time. If she is pregnant and this is unwanted pregnancy, she can terminate it by medicines also. These medicines have to be procured only after an Obstetrician's prescription.

If she did not have any intercourse in last 2 months, then the cause for her delay in menses can be attributed to hormonal factor. Since she is a known hypothyroid case, that seems to be the reason for delayed menses. You may give her Tab. Deviry for 5 days and 4-7 days after that she should get her menses.

However, please do not leave the issue there only. She needs her hormonal balance to be re-established. Please get her Thyroid function test repeated to ascertain the functionality of the thyroid and also to decide whether the medicines she is receiving for hypothyroidism need any modification. Please get blood examined for T3, T4 and TSH. If Thyroid is within normal limits, then other hormonal assays on blood like FSH, LH, Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin, etc. may be required. That will decide whether she needs cyclical birth control therapy for few months or not.

Please report to your Gynaecologist who will take decision on this.

I hope this solves your query.
