Suggest Medication For Cramps On The Foot

I had my second Prolia injection in early December 2013. About 2 weeks later, I began to experience severe cramping in my left foot, along the inside edge below the big toe, when I was laying in bed at rest. It would awaken me at night or prevent me from going to sleep. It was like a charley-horse cramp; massaging the area would help relieve it temporarily. There was no pain when walking or standing so sometimes I would get up and walk around, hoping I could get back to sleep if the cramps subsided. Next I began to feel pain in the big toe of each foot, it would cramp and feel like the bone would break if I bent it. I m still suffering from the cramps and pains only now I feel them occasionally during the day while engaged in other activities. I m wondering if it could be a Prolia side effect and if there is any medication to alleviate the severe cramps. (My doctor tested me for gout and it was negative. I ve tried Ibuprofen with minimal relief. I was taking Zetia and stopped taking it 6 weeks ago, thinking it might be the cause, but I m still having this problem so now I m wondering if it s due to the Prolia.)

Hello,

I have studied your case.
Muscle cramps can be reduced by
Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil
Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle.
Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same
Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.

Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
