Suggest Medication For Burning Sensation On Lips

actually since 2 days I have been experiencing some problems on my lips, till yesterday morning my lips were fine n supple but then suddenly after sometime i started having a burning sensation on my lips like some one has put them on fire n also on the corners i felt like someone has cut them with a knife and later on till evening both my upper and lower were on fire and they feel very scaly n dry instead of applying lip balm frequently. I now also have some small grainy structures on the upper lip with which my skin is coming off too. both my lips are burning like hell and its hurting very much even to talk and wen i try to open my mouth for eating the pain gets worse, my lips are red and a lil swollen up too. soo i wanna know why his is happening am I having any allergy? or is it a symptom to some illness and what is the cure?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your query the symptoms that you are experiencing that are of severe burning sensation of the lips along with small bumps and peeling of the skin are all indicting towards allergic reaction..
It can be due to any skin cosmetic while toothpaste, excess sun exposure can also be a cause..
Another cause can be bacterial or fungal infection of the lips..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of scraping from the lesions and blood test will help in diagnosis and will be treated accordingly..
As of now you can do cool compresses over the lips and also take anti-histamines like Levocetrizine to reduce burning sensation..
You can apply thick coat of petroleum jelly over the lips..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
