Suggest Medication For Bipolar Disorder To Lose Weight
i am on seroquel 100mg, effexor 75mg, and i ve been on thyroxine 50mg since july of this year i have gained 80 lbs since i ve been on the seroquel and it knocks me out and i cannot function so i have to take it at night. i was 140 lbs i don t eat a lot i drink water. is there a bipolar medication that can help me lose weight

Your hypothyroid status may also have contributed to the weight gain and if so, a repeat thyroid hormone test should be done. Based on the results of that, a hike in thyroxine hormone dose can be considered. Seroquel can cause weight gain but it is less as compared to other drugs of the same class. You can also discuss with your doctor the option of starting topiramate which can aid weight loss and has mood stabilizing property as well.
