Jacque 39 weeks 3 days pregnant and I'm having back pain in my lower back and I have this twitching throbbing feeling in my vagina at my last OB spot I was said to be 70% effaced but not dilated any. I had horrible yellow and copper orange loose bowel movements two day in a row but no longer am having this problem I'm more worried about the twitching feeling any ideas what this could be?

hi,
I understand your concern
You are almost full term, having 70% effacement of cervix. Effacement allows decent of fetal head in pelvic cavity, In addition you had loose motions in last two days-This has caused excessive stress on pelvic floor- leading to pressure/ stretch/ vascular congestion on the vaginal region - that is why the twitching/ throbbing feeling.
- Relax, have sufficient hydration( pleny of liquids with sugar& salt/ ORT), take light, easy to digest food.
- In such a condition provided fetal position & sufficiency of pelvis is favorable you will start having labor pains at any moment.
- You should observe fetal movements to be as frequent as before/ have regular check up for heart sound record-& wait for the normal labor pains
to start./ Consult your doctor for assessment of progress/ induction of labor pains if needful.
Thanks.
