Suggest Medication For An Abrasion On The Scrotum

My15 month old son has a small abrasion on the bottom of his scrotum. This is the 2nd day we've noticed it. We don't know what caused it, whether it came from him scratching himself while in the tub or a diaper that was to tight or from fastening his onesies. Besides gobs of Vaseline what else can we do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi I am Dr Fahim and I will help you with your problem

I have through you question. I appears to be contact dermatitis, mostly likely because of tight and wet diapers. Its a simple skin condition, need not to worry much as it is easily treatable. All you need to do is to keep the area dry and clean, change diaper regularly and apply betnovate ointment (Local steroid ointment) twice or thrice daily. He will be better in matter of days.

I hope my answer will help you. Do rate it, if you like it.
