Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your daughter's history and would like to make suggestions for her as follows:
1. I would agree that she might require regular medications (like
Budecort) for at least 30 days as she used to have frequent symptoms.
2. It is important that a child gets right dose of Budecort and the
nebulizer chamber is filled with at least 4-5 ml of solution. The ratio between Budecort and saline is not important.
Your doctor might have suggested you dilution to fulfill above two requirement. So I would suggest you to continue with the same dilution.
3. Ideally, one respule should be used only once. The reason is there chance of contamination and therefore infection is one uses cut open respule.
One more problem with refrigeration is that inhaling cold solution may directly cause constriction of airways and may worsen symptoms. So I would suggest you not to give her nebulization immediately from refrigerator.
4. Most practical solution is to use one full respule at one time and it is very much possible as they come in different dilution. Please contact your doctor regarding this concern and he will prescribe you respules with appropriate concentration.
5. Some children with
wheezing have symptoms worsening with what we call "
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). They need drugs like
Lansoprazole (junior
lanzol) for at least 4-6 weeks regularly.
So if your doctor has prescribed her junior lanzol, I would suggest you to complete the course.
6. Personally, I would suggest her
allergy testing which will help you identify the substances causing allergies to her and also to know the measures to avoid them.
7. In general, please avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution as much as possible to her.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish your daughter the best of the health ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
