Suggest Medication For A Blocked Oil Gland In The Eyelid

What is the name of having a blocked oil gland of your eyelid, that forms a sore on the inside of the eyelid? I have had this once before and was put on Doxycycline for it, and I think I have it again. Is a surgical procedure required to get rid of it for good?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain blocked oil gland on the eyelid can lead to formation of small painful lump that can be either Stye or Chalazion..
It generally resolves gradually on its own but in case if it is recurring and painful or does not resolve you can start doing warm compresses by dipping a wash cloth in warm water and gently placing on the eyelid..
This helps in making it to drain and gradually resolve..
But in case if it does not resolve by doing this remedy consult an Ophthalmologist and get evaluated and he can advise you antibiotic and steroid eye drops..
In case if it still does not resolve or recurs frequently then only surgical treatment is advisable..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
