Suggest Medication For Spondylosis In Neck & Back

I m a 38 year old female diagnosed 2 years ago with spondylosis in my neck and back (C4,5,and 6 and L3,4,5 and moving to 6). I walk 6 or 7 days a week but would really like to do some jogging and do a 5k. Is jogging okay with this diagnosis? I really don t want to cause myself more harm later.

Hello,

What I can infer from your complaints is that you have age-related degeneration of spine although I appreciate you planning to start jogging.

Few tips I would suggest before you begin:
- normalize your weight according to your height
- start by brisk walking and slowly graduate to slow run and then jogging over a period of 6 months

You have not told me about any medical conditions but better to get your BP and sugar levels.

If any doubt consult your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Santosh S Jeevannavar,
