As per your complain it seems that your husband has a recurring case of sinus infection for which he has been on antibiotics thrice in 9 months.. Secondly deep and severe cough seems most probably be due to problems related to respiratory tract disorders and not just sinusitis like Bronchitis, lung infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease etc.. It should not be simply home treated and needs proper medical assistance.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan as well as chest x ray and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. He can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.. You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline.. Cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan can also be advised.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. Do warm compresses around nostrils..
