Hello,

Rapunzel syndrome, a rare psychiatric condition where people eat their own hair, is all too real — and potentially deadly. About 10 to 20 percent of those individuals end up eating their hair, a condition known as trichophagia.

Commonly seen in girls above age of 12 years.
Awareness training or behavioral therapy is useful.
Competitive response training is useful.
Sometimes it may cause low quality of life.
Psychiatrist consultation is necessary.

I think I just tried to explain the problem. If want more information please consult your psychiatrist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
