Suggest For The Treatment For Itching In The Ears

Two summers ago I was swimming in a lake and developed an itchy ear canal with white, pale yellow residue. I ve treated it with all kinds of medicines. Hydrocortizon cream, clomitrozole, triple antibiotic ointment, prescription ear drops from my Dr. Nothing has cured it. Any ideas what it might be and any other treatments I could try?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It looks like Swimmers ear that is an infection in the ear caused to swimmers..
So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency Room or Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
A course of antibiotics taken orally along with antibiotic ear drops can help.
Also manual cleaning of ears can help in reducing infection faster..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
