Dear Young Mom,
Congratulation for your new born.

Please do not worry about this condition, I will teach You how to cure it.

First of all remember that this muscle rectus split is very common among pregnant woman. In science it is called Diastasis Recti.
If your doctor has already diagnosed it, there are some things you can do to manage your rectus muscle get on the form it was before.

Do not over stress your belly. Go to a physiotherapist that will help you do the right exercise to strengthen your muscle without making it worse. Home exercises are good, but you should be very carefully to do the right exercise, because not every exercise will do good, some may harm your condition.

Do take care of your diet eating proteins and sugar, that help the organism regenerate muscle in a faster way.

Go and check with your doctor, if the muscle is getting better. He may use ultrasound echo to see the distance of the split if it is getting shorter and shorter, so to check if you are improving.

If the distance is very big, you may undergo laparoscopy procedure to help the muscle repositionate.

Take care and good luck.

All the best,
Dr. Eni
