Suggest Exercise To Fix Bulge In Lower Tummy

Hi, Im 27 years old and busy with a my own personal fitness and muscle building program with my personal diet (eating 6 times a day). Im 1.89m tall and weigh 86kg with a body fat % of about 16%. I have one problem thouhg, seems like I might have something called a "lumber curve?" in my lower spine. I have a lower tumy that builges out. Is there any exercise I can do to fix this or is it just me being paranoid to my hasty results for a six pack. Also when I flex my abdomanals I can see almost a 4 pack definition but when I relax its all flabby and soft...Any idea what this is about?

Thank you for coming to HCM! First, determine if a curve is there. Stand up straight and with your knees slightly flexed, bend overwith someone behind you. They should be able to see the curve in your back.

You probably know that your percent body fat is high at 16%. The range for non-athletic men is 5-15%. So, losing more body fat will help as you are carrying weight around the stomach. Fat around the stomach is metabolically active and is the worse place for your fat to land.

Exercises: Pictures are better than words. I have pictures of exercises for the abdomen and core muscles on my free infographic educational site under the board called "fitness" at http://www.pinterest.com/kathyshattler
Do especially pelvic tilts, work out your core and practice your posture every time you think of it.
Thank you again and refer to my site for pictures of exercises. Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
