Suggest Effective Antibiotics For COPD

I am COPD patient for the last fifteen years. I use inhalers. The cough is too thick and sticky does not come out easily. so i take asthalin with saline which gives temporary relief. I want to know the antibiotics which can give me relief. the doctor prescribe amoxicillin cluvanac 625 mg thrice a day. Can u suggest some potent antibiotic to remove infection. TLC value is 10.10 and esnophill count is 7.10. pl advice the course of treatment u think better.

Respiratory tract infection is very common in COPD patients because of poor lung defense.
And same is with your case as you are having thick expectoration.
Antibiotic you are taking is also good for respiratory pathogens.
In addition to this macrolide group of antibiotic (azithromycin) is recommended in COPD patients. It is having excellent effect on atypical organism, so gives extended coverage.
Apart from antibiotics and inhaler, COPD patients need mucolytic, expectorant and antioxidants drugs. All these will dilute the sputum and make it easy to cough out.
Since all these are prescribed medicines, you need to consult your doctor for them.
