Suggest Dosage Of Valprol For Low Valproic Acid Levels

hi, doctor, i am taking valprol cr 500 since 2007, i am working abroad but i bought medicines from india to country where i work , this time when i came for vacation , my valpric acid levels were low, so doctor told me in india to take 2 tabs 500 mg in night and 1 tab 500 mg in morning, how long i should take this. i am outside india now after vacation, does prolonged use or life long use of valprol cr 500 will have any side affects on our body. Most important thing is the reason for prescribing valprol.
Initially it is dosed according to body weight and serum valproate levels. But once the person is stabilised, the dose can be reduced to minimum effective dose.
Lifelong treatment may be required in some cases.
It can cause gastritis, nausea vomiting diarhhea, weight gain, hair loss, sedation and altered liver functions.
