Suggest Dosage Of Tylenol And Advil
Hi, Age and body weight of your son not mentioned. The recommended dose of Tylenol for children is 15 mg/kg every 6 hours whereas Advil s dose is 5 to 10 mg/kg orally every 6 to 8 hours as needed. I would advise you to give Tylenol because it is safe and effective in reducing fever in children however Advil may be given alternatively. Since Advil is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug it may cause stomach irritation and gastritis so it should be given after meals. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
