Suggest Dosage Of Novelon Contraceptive

Hello, I am getting married in January 2015.After April 2015, for 4-5 months my husband and I will live in different countries for work. My Gyne has advised Novelon as a contraceptive in two ways (choice is on me): 1. take pills for 5-6 months daily (no 21 days cycle) and then stop taking pills till the time I would not start living with my husband. 2. take pills for 21 days and take a break for 7 days, during which I will have withdrawal bleeding. Repeat this till April 2015 and then stop taking pills. I would like to know 1.the correct procedure to take the pills in my case. 2. When should I start taking the pills in this case?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Both methods would be fine so you can choose whichever method would best suit you.

In terms of start date, you can start at the time of your next period. Most birth control pills are started at the first day of the period.

I hope this helps
