Hi, Gemidro 150 mg contains ibandronic acid which is used in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in women after menopause or who are taking steroids. Gemidro is a bisphosphonate that prevents bone destruction, strengthens the bones and reduces the risk of bone fractures by increasing the density of the bones and suppressing the activity of osteoclasts which are responsible for breaking bones. Gemidro is advised to take early in the morning after getting up from sleep on an empty stomach. Then, this medication should be taken with a full glass of water and maintain an upright posture for thirty minutes to avoid gastric irritation or GIT upset. Don t lie down after taking this medication. Don t take any food or medication after taking Gemidro tablet, keep an interval of thirty minutes. Gemidro may decrease the calcium level in your blood.
